tzusing returns to l.i.e.s. with his third and (final?) name out of place ep after two now sought after percusors leading up to this one. again we are not disappointed as the massive opener face of electric hits hard taking a typical breakbeat formula and adding some sort of bizarre ritualistic element like the zulu nation or george kranz in a ceremony at a steel factory. emotional eater slows the tempo down, but again the machines grind hard with tinges of acid, heavy rhythms and sparse vocals moving in and out, while the closer r is a stripped down beater made for mixing. top stuff from the in demand producer.

new york s gunnar haslam appears on l.i.e.s. with his third lp for the label titled lebesgue measures. picking up where he left off on his last long player mirrors and copulation we hear an evolution in his sound throughout the nine songs. still there are the understated yet grooving acid lines next to carefully programmed drums and attention to surrounding detail which creates beautiful and balanced atmospheres. there is a brightness coupled with an underlying sullenness tapping into some sort of mystical and seemingly obscured narrative which moves through the entire record. deep and immersive stuff to say the least.

4 friends who rather be early than l8te. mechatok is the man. 18 years old, relatively new in the game, he is delivering on a level we didnt even know was existing before we got to check out his stuff. moving effordlessly between contemporary pop aesthetics, video game soundtrack and dubstep influences he produces music that could work as a score to the nasa end-of-the-year resume commercial but also gets your local dancefloor into new spheres. this of course is only one interpretation it could also be normal musik in some better place, we suggest you go there and stay as long as you can.

rdv5 brings dutchman jamie lie a kwie to the black wax with his minimalistic approach to house. this sound ep includes the track this sound aptly named after the ep along with sneakwow and on a soul trip. niko & kapper are his inspiration and later this year jamie will support tini & the gang. super stuff.

ive been involved in two or three major genres that are very different from each other, says vaughn robert squire from canada, better known as prison garde, who is making his true romance debut with our trep009. about his melody ep, he says: its gospel-influenced house stuff. its in line with the last couple records that i put out, but i feel like its a little more mature and that the quality of the recording is a lot higher than anything else ive done as prison garde. i recorded it at the phi centre in montreal - its a beautiful cultural center in the old port. ango and i locked ourselves in there and did a live record on an ssl in a big room.

who is dj fett birger?? it’s dj fett burger, stupid. geography records straight outta malmö, sverige has awoken. please make room in your record collection for more stupid stuff from sweden’s third biggest city, home of great falafel and bad clubs. our fat friend from moss, norge takes some parts from shakarchi & stranéus eternal 2013 hit single ”either way” (geo 005) and turns it into a dreamy cheese-pop track ready for full, half-full and really empty dance floors. on the flip side the burg’ teams up with underground finnish talent stiletti ana for a literal take on the snl quote ”more cowbell”. please play it loud. for the third side of this single record release, burga’ fett flangs it out with a us style bonus beats, strictly for the djs! with this, you can play our record with an even nicer record on top! also perfect for shout outs, birthday wishes during sets or when you’re just really tired of melody and bass. all in all, a solid three track release to make it up to you that we forgot to release a record in like 1.5 years. sorry about that. geo 008 is already done, so don’t worry it wont be long until the next one! regards, adam & oscar

new zealand based crate digger frank booker invites good friend julien dyne to drop the second release on his new imprint down in the basement. jd picks up where the man called booker left off on vol 1 and gets straight up to speed cutting up rare boogie, disco and afro jams and employing his trademark raw cuts in an old school style, while lacing oodles of fx n stuff into the mix. the overall sound is reminiscent of the early idjut boys material, which is so close to mr booker s heart.
